Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She worked later as a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and acted as a crime reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax police response towards DUI incidents in Charleston resulted in an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell then worked for NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as a investigative reporter, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend.
